About Early Clinical Biometrics

The Early Clinical Biometrics (ECB) Graduate Programme is designed to provide you with the opportunity to support the design, execution, analysis and reporting of clinical studies as well as become a future leader in biometrics.

This programme is offering permanent positions for statisticians and programmers. Graduates will receive both formal and on-the-job training and have the opportunity to network with other biometrics graduates and join the business-wide AZ graduate network.

About ECB

ECB are involved in the generation of evidence to determine whether promising compounds are good enough to progress to large pivotal trials. Therapy area aligned statistics groups work collaboratively with early clinical statistical programmers and data managers, together driving innovation to address the emerging challenges and opportunities within early drug development.

About the programme

  • The ECB Graduate Programme has four key elements: practical on-the-job experience, soft skills development, technical skills development, and a social graduate network.
  • You will undertake real work, collaborating with experienced staff.
  • You will have different learning experiences designed to broaden your skills and business understanding. These learning experiences may include a broad spectrum of biometrics activities from study design through to data analysis and reporting, exploratory analyses, publication work, literature reviews and support for department initiatives.
  • You will be supported with skills development relevant to your area of work, including technical skills (e.g. statistics and programming), communication and presentation skills, as well as leadership skills and processes knowledge.
  • You will have a coach/mentor and will be encouraged to be a member of relevant professional bodies.
  • You will be partnered with a more experienced team member as part of ECB’s buddy system to help support your transition from education to industry.
  • You will also have the opportunity to network with other biometrics graduates and join the business-wide AZ graduate network.
